Ubisoft will launch an American football game to compete with other manufacturers in sports games
While EA's Madden series dominates American football, other companies have experimented with games in the sport in recent years. Earlier this year, 2K launched NFL 2K Playmakers, a more card-collecting mobile game, and now Ubisoft has entered the fray.
Ubisoft has announced that it will launch its new NFL game, but it is not the traditional American football game that everyone has been expecting. Ubisoft says that "NFL Primetime Fantasy" is designed to revolutionize traditional fantasy football gameplay and bring players a new experience.
Ubisoft refers to NFL Primetime Fantasy as a "real-time fantasy sports competition", where players can make real-time decisions in real-time NFL games that directly affect their fantasy points. This means players can activate various bonuses during the game, for example, when the Philadelphia Eagles enter the red zone, players can activate the touchdown bonus of quarterback Jaylen Hertz. If Hertz is successful in scoring, the player's final score for the week will receive a boost.
NFL Primetime Fantasy is expected to be released later this year.
